Anti-Bullying Week
Last week was Anti-Bullying Week at Bowes with the theme 'Make A Noise About Bullying'.
Thank you to all the children and staff who wore odd socks to school to demonstrate that we are all different. School Council sessions took place in all classes which gave children an opportunity to talk about bullying, what it means, where and why it happens and what we, at Bowes, can do to stop it happening. Most children are aware that they should speak with a trusted adult to get advice, but children also talked about standing up for themselves, telling an adult, strategies to deal with situations, helping the 'bully' and generally being kind and collaborative to each other.
